North Eugene soccer player Camden Dewitt is the winner of the Eugene-Springfield area high school girls Athlete of the Week, as voted by Register-Guard readers.

A sophomore, Dewitt scored go-ahead goals in wins over Churchill (Oct. 21) and Ashland (Oct. 23) to help the Class 5A No. 1 Highlanders complete a 14-0 regular season.

Dewitt received 48.99% of the reader poll votes. Teammate Natalie McClure was second (29.07%).

Springfield junior Ellen Auxier ran a 5,000-meter season-best time of 20 minutes, 2.7 seconds Oct. 22 and took ninth place at the Umpqua Invite. Her time is the 11th-best this season among Midwestern League girls.
