AKRON, Ohio — Michael Callahan, who served as Summit County prosecutor and a common pleas court judge before becoming a criminal defense attorney, has surrendered his license to practice law after an investigation into allegations that he forced a client to have sex with him in exchange for representing her in an eviction case.

Ohio Supreme Court records show that Callahan submitted his application for retirement as an attorney at law in May of this year. That application was accepted by the court on Wednesday. In his application, Callahan agreed for his resignation to be denoted as "with discipline pending."
