This was the chilling 999 call made by a killer husband who claimed his wife had stabbed herself to death despite knowing he had murdered her just minutes before.

Hockey coach Mohamed Samak, 43, fatally stabbed his 49-year-old wife, Joanne Samak, at their home in Chestnut Spinney, Droitwich Spa, on July 1 last year.

Samak, who was found guilty of murder despite claiming his partner had taken her own life, told a 999 call handler: "My wife's got a knife in her tummy."

The ex-Egyptian international hockey player had claimed that he woke up at 3am to find his wife stabbing herself.
