REDDING, Calif. - One person was transported to a local hospital with burn injures after a residential structure fire broke out Tuesday evening.

The Redding Fire Department tells Action News Now that at around 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday, firefighters were dispatched to the 700 block of Pioneer Court in Redding after receiving reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, crews found smoke coming out of the windows of the residence. When firefighters entered the structure, they found a active fire burning.

One person who was in the home suffered burn injuries and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain and achieve knockdown on the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
