METAIRIE, La. (Louisiana First) - While second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler won the starting job during training camp, rookie Tyler Shough quietly developed behind the scenes throughout the season, getting to the point where head coach Kellen Moore named him the starter for Week 9, a move intended to stick for the rest of the season.
"In my head, I was ready to go in at any moment," Shough said. "...I want to go out there and win. I want our team to win. So, I just want to be able to help the team as much as I can. Up to this point, I felt I was doing the best I could, and I was helping out the defense, growing myself, learning a lot. We got to continue to do that."
Shough’s spent most of the season up to this point as the team's scout team quarterback, a role where the 40th overall
