Two men are in custody after what police believe was another extortion-related shooting in Surrey early Thursday morning.

The Surrey Police Service says officers responded to reports of shots fired at a home on 56 Avenue near King George Boulevard.

“SPS officers arrived and confirmed that damage to the exterior of the residence had been caused by gun shots,” police described.

Though several people were inside the residence at the time, no one was reported injured.

Officers reportedly spotted a suspect vehicle near the home and arrested two men.

“Based on the initial information, it is believed that this shooting is extortion related with potential linkages to other investigations.”
