At 2:26 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated wind advisory valid from Friday 2 p.m. until Saturday 5 a.m. for Northern Worcester and Southern Worcester as well as Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Barnstable, Dukes, Nantucket and Middlesex counties.

The weather service describes, "West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected."

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result," comments the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
