Baylor Scheierman is part of the Celtics’ plans for the 2026-27 season.

Boston will pick up the $2.74 million third-year option in the 2024 first-round draft pick’s contract, according to multiple reports Thursday. HoopsHype.com’s Michael Scotto was the first to report the transaction.

Scheierman has seen action in four of the Celtics’ first five games this season after making several late-season cameos as a rookie. The 6-foot-6 wing has scored just three points thus far, but head coach Joe Mazzulla praised his defense after Wednesday night’s 125-95 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
