The Celtics are exercising the third-year option on Baylor Scheierman’s rookie-scale contract, a source confirms to MassLive. The deal is worth $2.74 million for the 2026-27 season. Boston had until Friday to decide on Scheierman’s option. Michael Scotto of Hoopshype was first to report the move.

The 25-year-old forward spoke confidently about the looming decision after Wednesday’s win over the Cavaliers to MassLive.

“I’m just focused on what we got tomorrow and that’s about it,” Scheierman said. “I’m not too focused on that. I feel very confident about what’s to come.”
