The Toronto Blue Jays were able to dominate Game 5 of the World Series in Los Angeles to take a 3-2 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The series heads back to Toronto for the final two games of the season.
It was Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage who helped lead the team to this important victory.
Yesavage tossed seven innings and allowed one earned run while striking out 12 Dodgers hitters and walking zero. It was the first time a pitcher had ever struck out 12 hitters without walking one in a World Series game. It was also the record for most strikeouts in a World Series game by a rookie.
Yesavage has made only eight starts at the big league level, with five of them coming in the postseason. It's safe to say he's grown up rather quickly in Toronto.
