The East Providence City Council voted unanimously during their meeting on Oct. 21 to support a resolution that urges all relevant state and federal agencies to consider concerns about the proposed construction of a roundabout on Veterans Memorial Parkway.
The resolution, brought forth by Ward 2 Councilwoman Anna Sousa , pertains to the ongoing project at the former Metacomet Golf Course, where Marshall Properties, Inc. has spent years striving to build an 890-unit, mixed-use development.
Although the project received its final local approval from the East Providence Waterfront Commission back in December of 2024 , Marshall still needs to receive permitting from various state agencies in order to commence work on the development, including the Rhode Island Department
