LOWVILLE, New York (WWNY) - Lewis County is out with a list of food pantries for people affected by the impending delay of SNAP benefits.

According to Social Services Commissioner Jennifer Jones, over 2,600 people in the county receive SNAP benefits. That’s about 10 percent of the population.

In a recent update from the office, a list of food pantries across the county and their hours was attached. (See the list at the end of this article.)

Jones says that even when the government opens back up, it could take some time for recipients to receive their benefits.
