PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Pitt County is again looking for an animal services director.

The county confirms that Tiffany Peterson has resigned and her last day on the job was yesterday.

Peterson started a little over a year ago, replacing Chad Singleton who abruptly resigned in the summer of 2024 , just days before his arrest for submitting forged documents to FEMA while he was deputy chief at the Red Oak Fire Department.

Peterson had previously worked with animal services in both North Carolina and Michigan.

Pitt County did not say why she left or whether she was going to another position.
