VANCEBORO, N.C. (WITN) - Vanceboro residents are being extra careful as Dominic Connelly remains on the run.
Connelly, 24, is wanted for the murder of his grandmother , Patricia Lopedote, and recently stabbed a Craven County deputy at a fast-food restaurant. The deputy has been released from the hospital.
Connelly is currently wanted for murder, first-degree arson, and larceny of a motor vehicle. He also now faces additional charges of attempted first-degree murder, felony assault on law enforcement, causing serious injury, and resisting a public officer.
Increased law enforcement has been visible throughout Vanceboro, with helicopters and undercover agents searching the area. Many residents said seeing the police makes them feel safer.
