ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park has welcomed its first giraffe and rhino herds to the developing African safari experience.

The animals join some 75 animals already living on the 425-acre property, a former golf course being transformed into an African safari.

Park leaders said visitors will soon be able to load into vehicles and ride through the habitats to see the animals up close in a setting that feels truly wild.

Several more giraffes are expected to move into their new home at the park within the next year, with as many as 10 to 15 living at WildCare Park by the 2027 opening.
