Police are investigating and charges are pending after hundreds of animals were found in “extremely poor” condition in northwestern Alberta.

RCMP on Thursday announced an investigation after the Canadian Animal Task Force, Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) and more than a dozen other animal welfare groups rescued more than 290 cats, dogs and livestock from a pair of properties operating as an animal rescue in Valleyview.
