NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — If you spot them in time, it could save your trees. Bagworms are a pest caterpillar that continue to make their home in evergreens across Middle Tennessee.
One local landscaping company is hoping to empower homeowners to spot them early.
Monica Mullen and her husband, Max, service a lot of yards across Nashville—mainly in East Nashville. They told News 2 they've spotted countless bagworms invading people's conifers.
Bagworms make their homes in cone-shaped bags that hang from the branches of evergreen trees. The bags grow as the worm grows. Some bags can grow to be 2-and-a-half inches long.
The danger is, as they grow, they can kill off entire trees.
