A Glendale man last Thursday pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend in the Maspeth tavern where she worked.

Marcin Pieciak, 37 of 76th Street, came to The Ceili House bar at around 6:30 p.m. on March 30, 2024, according to the office of Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Pieciak then approached 41-year-old bartender Sarah McNally as she worked and stabbed her 19 times in the neck, back and chest.

He slit his own throat several times with a second knife and tried to flee, the DA said, but a patron stopped him. When police arrived, Pieciak left the premises with both knives and brandished them toward the officers, who safely disarmed him and recovered the weapons.

McNally suffered a damaged carotid artery and a severed spine, and she was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
