FRANKFORT — Governor Andy Beshear and Congressman Morgan McGarvey held a joint press briefing Tuesday to warn Kentuckians about the potential rise in health insurance premiums if the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits are not extended ahead of open enrollment beginning this Saturday, November 1.
“These tax credits help lower the cost of health insurance premiums,” said Gov. Beshear. “If these credits aren’t extended, nearly 100,000 Kentuckians with insurance plans through our state marketplace, called kynect, can see up to 37% higher premiums for 2026 coverage.”
