BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - A Bettendorf mother who experienced her own NICU journey has returned to Trinity BirthPlace to bring Halloween joy to the hospital’s tiniest patients.
Amy Finn, senior director of programs and development for Project NICU , delivered 50 handmade Halloween costumes to the NICU on Thursday. The costumes allow families to celebrate their baby’s first Halloween while in the hospital.
“We handmade 50 Halloween costumes for the NICU babies so families can go through those and pick whichever first Halloween costume they want for their child and lay it on them and have it’s a great photo opportunity,” Finn said.
A few of the costumes included: Barbie, jack-o-lantern, Taylor Swift, frog and even a robe and hair curlers for a baby at a day spa.
