Pulaski County officials have finalized a property swap with Hinkle Contracting Company that will give the county sole ownership of its current compost site off the southern side of Highway 914, while Hinkle Contracting will acquire the rock quarry at the intersection of 914 and the 80 Bypass on Garner Schoolhouse Road.
Pulaski County Judge Executive Marshall Todd explained the agreement during a recent Fiscal Court meeting, saying the swap involves 27.2 acres at the compost site and 42 acres at the old quarry. “We’re going to do an even swap,” Todd said. “The reason we’re doing this is to propose a construction debris landfill at the 914 site. It will save us a ton of money because we have tons of debris from the tornado that needs to be buried and transferred somewhere.”
