The city of Sanford said it has fixed the smelly problem coming from the North Water Reclamation Facility since mid-September.
City manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. said the city installed a temporary exhaust fan blower to help remove the smell while they wait for the permanent fan.
"I have not gotten as much complaints as we used to. We have the permanent part on order, and it should be here and installed by the end of November," he said. "We were getting a lot of complaints, but for the last week, we haven't gotten any."
On Thursday, Public Works and Utilities Director Brynt Johnson gave WESH2 a tour of the water treatment plant.
The blue, temporary fan could be seen on top of one of the buildings with a wooden shelter covering it.
