ST. LOUIS (WMBD) -- Schnucks started a food drive on Thursday to help support those who will be impacted by the Freeze of SNAP benefits.
Schnucks will be hosting food drives at all of its 113 stores, which will support local food banks, Schnucks Spokesman Paul Simon said.
This food drive hopes to address some of the increased demand caused by SNAP benefits being paused due to the ongoing government shutdown.
“This food drive is an extension of our company’s mission to nourish people’s lives as well as our community pillar to fight hunger and food insecurity in the communities we serve,” Schnucks Executive Vice President of Supermarkets Ted Schnuck said. “Each day, our store teams partner with food pantries in their respective neighborhoods, giving products that total more than $15 milli
