TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. —
A section of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Transylvania County, North Carolina, has reopened after a rockslide happened on Wednesday night.
Around 9 p.m., the National Park Service received a report of a rockslide and possible collision near milepost 410, which is located near Frying Pan Tunnel and Graveyard Fields Waterfalls.
Rangers, along with first responders from Transylvania County, found a pickup truck caught in the debris. Both lanes were blocked from the slide, but no injuries were reported.
This section of the parkway was closed from 9 p.m. to midnight as authorities removed the vehicle and cleared the roadway. The roadway has since reopened.
