LEBANON, Ind. — After five months of China’s moratorium on U.S. soybean purchases, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said on Thursday that China has agreed to purchase a significant amount of soybeans through 2028.

“We’re very excited to hear it.” Tim Gauck, a corn/soybean farmer and President of the Indiana Corn Marketing Council, said. “To lose them was almost catastrophic for some people.”

Five Republican members of Indiana’s Congressional delegation joined Sec. Rollins for the announcement at Everett Farms in Lebanon, Indiana.

“A real win for our farmers, but especially here in Indiana, where those commodities account for 65% of farm income that is generated,” Sec. Rollins said.
