WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A week after a Wichita man was shot and killed in a northeast Wichita park, his mother is seeking closure amid an investigation that police say is wide open.
Thirty-two-year-old Travon Stewart died from his injuries after he was shot on the night of Oct. 23 in Dr. Glen Dey Park (formerly Grove Park), in the 2800 block of North of Grove Street, southwest of K-96 and Hillside. The deadly shooting happened near a youth football game at which 200 to 300 people were gathered.
Stewart, of Wichita, was at the park selling concessions as a fundraiser for a football team not affiliated with the Wichita Junior Football League when he was shot.
Despite hundreds being near the scene when the shooting happened, police haven’t made an arrest in the case and the Wichita Police
