A woman has been charged with murder after an eight-month-old baby was found dead at a home in Perth's southern suburbs.
Police and paramedics were called to a home on Winpara Way in Baldivis about 10:15am on Thursday.
The eight-month-old infant was found deceased at the scene when emergency services arrived, police said.
The death was immediately treated as suspicious, and a woman was taken into custody to assist police with their investigation.
On Friday morning, police announced the 28-year-old woman had been charged with murder.
She is due to face Rockingham Magistrates Court later in the day.
Authorities closed off Winpara Way on Thursday as they investigated the baby's death, and multiple police officers, forensic specialists and detectives were seen surveying the property.
