They might be inclined to rename it the “orange zone” this weekend.
The Cincinnati Bengals defense ranks 30th in red-zone defense at 70.27%.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle didn’t want to reveal too much schematically — or underestimate the Bengals defense — “but teams are going down and attacking the specific coverages that they’re seeing and doing a good job of executing it down there.”
The red zone has been a point of emphasis for the Bears this week after they failed to capitalize on a few trips within spitting distance of the end zone Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bears settled for field goals on their first two drives, and it changed the complexion of the game.
