(KRON) — Ten suspected Sureños gang members are in custody and face charges in connection to 31 homicides committed across the Bay Area, the Oakland Police Department announced Thursday.
Eight of the suspects were arrested Wednesday during a multi-agency sweep, which included 10 search warrants served across Oakland, Modesto and Stockton. The arrests were part of a nine-year investigation led by OPD cold case investigator Jose Barocio.
“These two gangs were also involved in attempted murders, shootings, firearm trafficking, and robberies, as well as numerous shootings that have continued into 2025,” Barocio said in a statement.
