FARGO — Dozens of residents were left without homes after a massive early morning fire Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Autumn Chase apartments in south Fargo, though firefighters were able to rescue a resident and save a couple’s four cats.
The Fargo Fire Department responded to the 24-unit building at 1521 27th Ave. S. just after 2 a.m. Flames were seen pouring from the west end of the complex, shooting from the roof, and spreading from the second floor to the third floor and attic. The fire was extinguished just over an hour after the first units arrived.
One resident had to be rescued from a third-floor unit, while all other occupants evacuated safely. No injuries were reported, though a cat in a second-floor unit did not survive.
