PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - On October 30, the Family Justice Center of Central Louisiana hosted its Voices of Hope Survivor Celebration Brunch in Pineville, focusing on uplifting survivors and reminding them that support and healing are always within reach.

Thursday’s event was held at the Pineville Community Center, and brought survivors, advocates and community members together to share stories of strength and hope.

Executive Director Wendy Powell said the event was created to make survivors feel seen and supported.

“This is a way for our survivors to come and feel celebrated, to know that they are not alone in this situation, that they have people who will walk with them,” Powell said.

The Family Justice Center provides counseling, legal guidance and access to safe spaces for victims
