Strong winds may threaten Halloween activities across Massachusetts this year, as heavy rain drenches the state on Thursday night.
A wind advisory has been issued for the majority of the state from 2 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds speeds could reach between 25 and 35 mph with up to 50 mph gusts, forecasters warned. This may cause unsecured objects to be blown away, tree limbs downed and power outages, and driving may be difficult.
The advisory was issued for Western and Central Massachusetts, and Cape Cod and the Islands. No advisories have been issued for Eastern Massachusetts as of Thursday afternoon.
These gusty winds are expected to arrive alongside Thursday night’s rainstorm, which could bring between 1-2 inches of precipitation
