COLUMBIA — While Head Start programs around the country are preparing to run out of funding on Saturday as the federal government shutdown stretches on , Central Missouri Community Action's Head Start program is not among them.
Head Start Director Beth Vossler confirmed Thursday that CMCA Head Start will not run out of funding on Nov. 1 because its current fiscal year lasts into 2026.
The program's 2025 fiscal year began May 1, 2025, and ends April 30, 2026, meaning the program is still receiving funds from fiscal year 2025.
