Boulder police arrested a man in connection with an incident last week where a University of Colorado Boulder student reported being hit with a hockey stick.
Police arrested Taylor James Rose, 36, of Arvada on Thursday morning, according to a news release. Rose was booked in the Boulder County Jail and faces one count of second-degree assault. Bail has not been set, according to online records.
Nathaniel Ellis, a CU Boulder sophomore who is the secretary of CU Boulder’s Turning Point USA chapter, said he was the victim of a politically motivated attack. Ellis told the Daily Camera he was leaving a meeting on his bike when he was followed by someone on in-line skates with a hockey stick. The man then hit him and “yelled something to the effect of ‘f— you, fascist,’” he said.
