The Coca-Cola Co. is bringing back Mr. Pibb, the spicy cherry soda that built a cult following over nearly three decades, with a reformulated recipe packing 30% more caffeine and updated packaging.
The revived soft drink hits shelves this month in Florida, Chicago, Las Vegas, Michigan and California, with plans for a national rollout in 2026. The company is launching both regular Mr. Pibb and a zero-sugar version.
The brand originally debuted in 1972 before being renamed Pibb Xtra in 2001. Now, responding to persistent requests from fans on social media platforms like Reddit and X, Coca-Cola is returning to the Mr. Pibb name with a formula featuring intense cherry flavor, hints of caramel and what the company calls a "spicy bite."
