TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — The son of a Maricopa County prosecutor is accused of taking part in a brutal beating that left an 18-year-old injured at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus last month.

Authorities said the following suspects were arrested in connection with the assault:

Justin Otis

Donnell Young

Jayden Smith

Court documents revealed Otis, 18, is a senior at Hamilton High School in Chandler. A spokesperson confirmed that he is the son of Erin Otis, a prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

The incident happened on the evening of Sept. 27, when the victim was hanging out with friends at the Hassayampa dorms in Tempe. Court documents say a group of unknown men came into the room, and one of them “shoulder checked” the victim.
