SUMTER, S.C. — Morris College is celebrating more than just school spirit this week — the historically Black college is marking 117 years of history, making it the oldest college in Sumter.
Students, alumni, and the community are coming together for a week filled with tradition, pride, and events honoring the legacy that’s shaped generations in Sumter County. From fall rallies and parades to the big game this weekend, excitement is building across campus.
“The students had activities from this past Sunday from coronation to fashion shows to a homecoming party on Friday night buts been a much of things to do not only for the students but for the alumni as well who will probably start coming tonight,” said Morris College President Said Sewell.
