HULL, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa State Capitol Bureau) -- U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra, a Republican from Hull, addressed issues that he encounters with his current job that could involve decisions that he would make for the job that he wants next: Iowa’s governor.
Feenstra joined the Republican race for governor on Tuesday after announcing an exploratory commitee in May.
Among those decisions would be what to do about 700 members of the Iowa National Guard who are not getting paid due to the partial federal government shutdown.
Feenstra told “Inside Iowa Politics” that he would support state funds paying the wages of National Guard members during the shutdown.
He also said that he would support sending National Guard members to other states if requested by President Donald Trump.
