The high school cross-country postseason kicked off throughout Oregon this week, and runners from the Eugene-Springfield area delivered plenty of standout performances.
The South Eugene girls made a major statement during districts week by sweeping the top seven individual spots en route to a historic Southwest Conference title on Oct. 29. Earlier that day, Axe senior Yosuke Shibata outran defending 6A state champion Malachi Schoenherr to win the SWC boys title.
