Verge Ausberry was appointed as the interim Athletics Director at LSU, in an abrupt announcement Thursday night.

Ausberry is the Executive Deputy Athletic Director , he has been in his role since 2019. He joined the LSU athletic department in 1991 as an intern in the compliance office.

He is from New Iberia, Louisiana and was a former linebacker for the Tigers.

Ausberry also works as Executive Director of External Relations and works with the university president in government relations.

He is married and has two kids, who are both student athletes.
