MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was killed after being struck by Memphis police squad car at Park Avenue and Getwell Road on Thursday evening.

Officers were called to the scene around 6:40 p.m.

The victim was taken in critical condition to the hospital and later died.

As of 9:30 p.m., police say all lanes of traffic east and westbound on are shut down due to the investigation.

Officials say this is an ongoing investigation that is being handled by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
