LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — An 18-year-old is dead, and a 21-year-old has been arrested following a single car DUI crash in Largo early Sunday morning.
The Largo Police Department said the crash happened around 4 a.m. in the area of 58th Street North and Eicart Crossing.
Arael Vaquero, the driver, has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, as well as DUI manslaughter. An arrest affidavit for Vaquero shows he was driving nearly 80 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone, collided with a brick wall at an office complex, and then smashed into two palm trees beyond the sidewalk.
Vaquero had a blood alcohol content of .247, three times the legal limit.
