After not scoring in the team’s opening seven games, the flame has returned the red-hot stick of Gabe Vilardi.
Vilardi scored twice and picked up one assist as the Jets beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3 at Canada Life Centre.
“It’s nice to score, obviously. It was a tough start, but like I said that day when you guys asked me, I was getting chances,” Vilardi said. “It’s tough to be over critical when they’re not going in, but you’re getting the looks. I had two goals but I don’t want to get ahead of myself and we need to keep going. I expect to keep scoring – it’s my job.”
