LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - For months now, Southwest Louisiana residents have been buying their tickets and crossing their fingers to win the St. Jude Dream Home.

In case you missed it, we drew the winner during our 6 p.m. newscast. 7NEWS captured the moment where Lake Charles resident Alexander Shows found out he won.

“I won the St. Jude Dream house,” said Shows.

Today started out as a normal day for Shows. He was ready to relax after a long day of work until he found out the news.

“You know, I was just getting in, and then I had so many people just call me at once. I’m like, there’s no way,” said Shows.

He originally bought one ticket at the start of this fundraiser, but this morning, he decided to throw another ballot in the hat.
