HAPPY VALLEY Ore. (KPTV) - A 25-year-old Happy Valley woman has been charged with punching a federal officer during a traffic stop on Wednesday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Oregon.
According to the U.S. attorney, an officer with the Federal Protective Service said he was driving a marked federal police vehicle when he allegedly saw Melanie Breeanne Rivas turn her car toward his and flip him off multiple times.
Then, the officer said Rivas cut him off and slammed on her brakes. Allegedly, the officer then tried to change lanes, but she moved to stay in front of him, he said.
Then, the officer pulled Rivas over. Allegedly, the officer told her to step out of her car, but she refused, “instead reaching for items in her center console,” according to the U.S.
