NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - The Anderson-Shiro volleyball team beat Wallis Brazos 25-16, 26-24, 25-27, 25-17 in the bi-district round of the Class 3A playoffs Thursday at Rattler Gym.

Anderson-Shiro advances to the area round under first-year head coach Christy Nienstedt and will take on Central Heights.

The Owls led 22-11 in the second set when the Cougars rallied with a 13-2 run to tie the set 24-24. The Owls were able to hang on and escape the second set thanks to a Jessie Hackenberg kill.

Despite losing the set, the Cougars used that momentum in the second to take game three and force a fourth set.

Anderson-Shiro advanced to the area round for the third straight year.
