A national advocacy group's soliciting of local donations has prompted a crucial Lubbock area organization to issue a statement and allege a violation of an agreement between the two on Thursday.

Lubbock Meals on Wheels, a nonprofit local organization that helps feed hundreds of home-bound people and pets, issued a warning to the community stating that Meals on Wheels America is soliciting donations and violating an agreement by doing so.

"They have violated the agreement we have with them that they will not solicit donations in any Lubbock or Wolfforth zip codes," LMOW stated. "We are in contact with them to find out why they have breached this agreement and how they will resolve it. We are waiting for their response."
