A traffic stop for an equipment violation Tuesday evening led to the arrest of two men on multiple drug-related charges, according to Indiana State Police. Around 4:48 p.m. on Oct. 28, a trooper stopped a green 1997 Jeep near East Hatchery Road and Hiawatha Lane in Syracuse. Police say the driver, 38-year-old Ryan Kennelly of Cromwell, appeared impaired, while passenger Shane Senter, 50, of Warsaw, was not wearing a seatbelt and attempted to leave the vehicle during the stop. After another officer arrived, troopers found Senter in possession of suspected methamphetamine, several narcotic pills, marijuana, and two hypodermic needles. Kennelly was also found with suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the Jeep. Kennelly was taken to a local hospital for an intoxication
