SALADO, Texas — The UIL volleyball playoffs got underway Tuesday night across Central Texas, with Salado and Robinson squaring off in a local bi-district showdown to open the postseason.

The Eagles came out strong, taking the first two sets behind an aggressive attack led by junior outside hitter Mazzy Johnson, who delivered several key kills to keep momentum on Salado’s side.

Salado carried that energy through the third set to complete the sweep over Robinson and advance to the area round.

“In a win-or-go-home situation, you never take it lightly,” Salado head coach Clint Brown said. “We try to take each day as it comes. That’s been the big thing for us lately — to be physically present each day where you’re at. But it’s always good to get a win and move on to the next round.”
