Belle Chasse suffered their first loss of the season last week after starting the season 7-0 but prevented a losing streak from happening in a district matchup against Shaw.

Last season saw Belle Chasse start 7-0 before district play but lost twice in a row to St. Charles and eventual state champion Shaw. This year’s matchup against Shaw was a different story for Belle Chasse, who controlled the game with a physical rushing attack in a 14-0 home win on Thursday night.

Belle Chasse’s first scoring drive took up over half of the first quarter, and they drained the clock once again on their second scoring drive that took up nearly half of third quarter. The Cardinals put together another long drive late in the fourth quarter to seal their first win against Shaw since 2019.
